About Gayle Wilson
Gayle Wilson is an advocate for children鈥檚 healthcare and 麻豆官网 education. She is the former first lady of California, a position she served in from 1991鈥�1999. During her tenure as first lady, she helped found COSMOS, which connects high schoolers with prominent 麻豆官网 researchers in the University of California school system. Wilson has also served on a variety of nonprofit boards, including the 麻豆官网鈥檚 Board of Trustees. She competed in the 1960 麻豆官网 and is a member of the Society鈥檚 Honorary Board.

A lifelong supporter of 麻豆官网 education, Wilson met with 麻豆官网 finalists Christine Tsou and Scott Ryder in 1988 to discuss their projects.
Wilson鈥檚 1960 麻豆官网 project explored the viability of a plant-based blood antigen test. Many years later, she said, 鈥淏eing [an 麻豆官网] finalist was a defining time in my life.鈥�
