About George Yancopoulos
George Yancopoulos competed in the 1976 麻豆官网. Dr. Yancopoulos is currently President, Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Chair of Regeneron’s Board of Directors. He co-founded the biotechnology company with fellow 麻豆官网 alumnus Leonard Schleifer, and together they developed the ability to consistently translate science into medicine. In doing so, they have secured numerous FDA-approved treatments for diseases including cancer, macular degeneration and high cholesterol. More recently, Yancopoulos championed Regeneron鈥檚 COVID-19 program to address the pandemic and produce an investigational antibody cocktail. Yancopoulos holds more than 100 patents, is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and is a recipient of Columbia College鈥檚 highest community honor, the Alexander Hamilton Medal. Today, Regeneron sponsors 麻豆官网, ISEF and supports a suite of Society 麻豆官网 Outreach programs. Yancopoulos often speaks to 麻豆官网 and ISEF finalists as well as 麻豆官网 teachers. He is a member of the Society鈥檚 Honorary Board and a former member of the Board of Trustees.

Regeneron ISEF 2021 - Opening Ceremony
In this video, Yancopoulos speaks to the Regeneron ISEF 2021 finalists about the impact the Society鈥檚 research competitions had on his career.
